Connecting to Google Talk via a Proxy in Adium

I have learned my lesson and it seems to be “READ BETWEEN COMMENTS”!

Since the workplace have enabled a proxy server. I have to reconfigure Lyeo (my new shiny MBP ^_^) to be using proxy settings for Adium.

You think simply checking the “Use Systemwide HTTP Proxy” should work the shit out of it. But no. Geezus Fracking big NO.

So After a few hours of relentlessly surfing and swearing this little url and comment solved the problem (for Google Talk only) But it’s better than nothing.

thank god for issue  http://trac.adium.im/ticket/1870 where someone boldy says the following:

If port 443 is available then you can connect to Google on this port with the following two check boxes checked:
- allow plain text authentication
- Force-old style SSL
- and setting the port to 443 ( https port ).

Thank YOU user ajmas, you saved my life. Now if I could find the Yahoo Messenger problem bit, I’ll be having more good feelings about this day.
